Ryan Cabase accounted for three touchdowns tonight for the Durango High football team in a 34-28 victory against Clark.
After losing its initial three games of the season, Durango has won three of its last four games, including a 2-1 start to Southwest League play.
“Our kids are growing up and learning how to win,” Durango coach Toby Henry said. “We were just inexperienced at the varsity level and had a real tough schedule.”
Jayden Young and Dalin Knighten had scoring receptions from Cabase, who also rushed for a touchdown. Alariun Green had a rushing touchdown.
Durango trailed 21-20 in the third quarter and also secured a second-half kickoff return for a score. But they found a way to beat Clark, stopping the Chargers’ five-game winning streak.
