The Virgin Valley football team allowed a touchdown on the first series of the game tonight against Slam Academy.

The Bulldogs, though, didn’t trail for long.

On their first play from scrimmage, Meb Hollingshead connected with Tanner Fielding on an 80-yard touchdown, and Virgin Valley never looked back in a 39-12 victory.

Wyatt Delano carried the ball 20 times for 174 yards and three touchdowns. Hollingshead passed for more than 200 yards and two scores.

Virgin Valley improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in league play and can easily be considered a favorite to make a deep playoff run in the class 3A. More important, they are peaking at the right time.

“This is as healthy as we have been all year,” Virgin Valley coach Matt Woods said.
