Construction continues at Genting Group’s Resorts World Las Vegas on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019.

A fourth worker has tested positive for the coronavirus at the Resorts World Las Vegas construction site on the Strip.

The latest case was confirmed Saturday, according to a news release from a public relations firm representing casino owner Genting Group.

The virus has prompted changes in construction activity, including a reduction in tower work to comply with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Occupational Safety and Health Administration social distancing guidelines.

Any workers who have been in recent close contact with workers who tested positive have been directed to self-isolate for two weeks, the news release said.

Certain areas at the job site, including some stairwells, turnstiles and other common areas, have been temporarily closed or sanitized, officials said.

All workers are being monitored for coronavirus symptoms at the start of each shift, officials said.

W.A. Richardson Builders is the lead contractor on the $4 billion-plus project.

Resorts World is still scheduled to open in the summer of 2021, a spokeswoman said.

Late last month, Madison Square Garden Co. suspended construction on its MSG Sphere project near the Strip because of the pandemic.

Health officials today reported more than 100 new COVID-19 cases in Clark County, pushing the total to more than 2,400, including more than 100 virus-related deaths.
