The raid of an illegal, multimillion-dollar marijuana growing operation at a northeast valley warehouse netted about 5,700 plants, the largest bust of an indoor grow operation in Metro Police history, the agency said.
The plants, which weighed a total of about 870 pounds, have a street value of about $8.6 million, police said.
A search warrant was executed with the help of Metro SWAT officers Wednesday in the 4600 block of Judson Avenue, near Lamb and Lake Mead boulevards, police said.
Detectives dismantled a sophisticated grow operation that included lighting, ballasts, duct work, chemicals and charcoal filters, police said. No arrests were announced.
The number of plants seized dwarfs the 3,244 discovered in the previous largest indoor raid in 2013, police said.
Metro worked on the case with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Henderson Police, North Las Vegas Police and the Department of Homeland Security.
