County Marriage License Bureau reopening

Couples will again be able to get married in Clark County — albeit under social distancing guidelines — starting Monday when the Marriage License Bureau in downtown Las Vegas resumes normal operations.

The bureau was closed on March 17 to help limit the spread of of the coronavirus.

The office will be open from 8 a.m. to midnight daily, including weekends and holidays, which were the regular hours before the closure.

“We have developed new procedures that adhere to social distancing guidelines and just recently acquired personal protective equipment including masks, gloves and no-touch thermometers,” county Clerk Lynn Goya said.

“Taken together, these protective measures will limit the risk to our staff and the public,” she said.

Couples must complete their marriage license applications online before visiting the bureau at the Regional Justice Center to limit the number of people in the office.

People must also wear a face mask or other face covering to enter the office, and social distancing guidelines will be enforced.

Surfaces will be disinfected after each couple leaves, and no one with a fever will be allowed inside.

Couples must present a government-issued identification, and only credit card payments will be accepted.
