Regarding the Dec. 21 letter, “It’s time to heal, stop complaining,” let’s talk about accomplishments of President Donald Trump.
Unemployment: President Barack Obama and his administration lowered the rate from 10% to 4.5%. Trump and his administration have reduced it a mere 1% or less.
Economy: Yes, many people agree it’s doing great. But for whom? Millions of Americans can’t afford to invest or save money without two or three jobs. What does that do to a family? And our deficit has skyrocketed.
Foreign policy: Our European allies can no longer trust Trump. The North and South Korean talks are thumbs down. Trump’s quid pro quo put Ukraine on the verge of losing its hard-fought-for democracy. But, the bromance with Putin/Russia is thriving. Sorry, that’s Putin’s gain.
Immigration: We have containment camps along our border with Mexico and this administration has the nerve to badmouth China for the same atrocity.
Health care: Trump’s promise has failed to arrive.
The duly elected and appointed officials are engaged in gerrymandering and voter suppression. Is this an accomplishment?
“Spoiled” has nothing to do with healing. America cannot heal with lies, amorality, tyranny and racism.
