Metro: Fatal hit-and-run suspect in custody

A motorist who is accused of driving away from a crash Saturday morning that fatally injured a pedestrian in the central Las Vegas valley has been arrested, according to Metro Police.

Delilah Marisa Tormos was being held at the Clark County Detention Center on one count of duty to stop at the scene of an accident, jail logs show.

The 32-year-old North Las Vegas resident was taken into custody today, the same day her Dodge Journey was found, according to police.

The SUV was missing a passenger-side mirror and parts of a headlamp that had been found at the scene of Saturday’s fatal crash, reported at 5:09 a.m. on Las Vegas Boulevard South, near Owens Avenue, police said.

Stanley Benton Harmon, 60, was crossing the road outside a designated area when he was struck by Tormos’ SUV, which was driving north on the boulevard, police said. He died at University Medical Center.

Tormos is expected in court Friday morning.
