Molotov cocktail thrown at Metro Police substation; suspect sought

Metro Police on Wednesday were searching for a person who threw a Molotov cocktail at a substation this week.

Nobody was injured, police said.

The incident occurred at Metro’s Northeast Area Command, 3750 Cecile Ave., near Las Vegas Boulevard North and Sandy Lane.

Officers spotted broken glass outside a gate Tuesday and began investigating, police said. Surveillance video shows a person lighting an object and throwing it.

A Molotov cocktail is a glass bottle full of flammable liquid that is ignited with a wick.

“Due to the seriousness of the crime, multiple sections from (Metro) are investigating the incident,” police said in a news release.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro at 702-828-7777. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or online at crimestoppersofnv.com.
