Strip restaurant closes after worker tests positive for COVID-19

A restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip closed out of precaution Wednesday after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

According to MGM Resorts International, the Mayfair Supper Club at the Bellagio discovered that a kitchen employee at the restaurant tested positive for the coronavirus Wednesday afternoon.

The employee, MGM said, received the diagnosis before reporting to work.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we are closing for the evening,” MGM said in a statement. “We will be sanitizing the work area and determining who they may have come in contact with for both tracing and testing.”

Mayfair, which is open Wednesday through Sunday, did not open for business on Wednesday.

Any guest with COVID-19 symptoms will be offered an onsite coronavirus test, MGM said.

After being closed for more than two months due to coronavirus concerns, the Bellagio reopened on June 4.
