Buffets at MGM Resorts International properties on the Strip will temporarily close starting Sunday as concerns over the spread of the coronavirus persist.

“These changes are temporary and will be evaluated on a weekly basis,” an MGM spokesman said in a statement. He said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution.

The buffets affected are at the Aria, Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, Luxor and Excalibur.

The announcement comes after two Clark County residents preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus that has spread across about 100 countries, infecting 116,000 people and claiming 4,000 lives. Two people in Washoe County also have tested positive.
