Multiple UNLV programs — 22 in all — ranked in the top 100 in their fields in an annual report from U.S. News & World Report.

It was a record showing for UNLV in the report.

“As these rankings highlight, the quality of graduate and professional education at UNLV is as strong as it’s ever been,” Chris Heavey, UNLV interim executive vice president and provost, said in a statement. “Rankings are just one signal of the depth and strength of our graduate programs.”

The School of Nursing’s master’s and doctoral programs ranked 40th overall, and the online nursing master’s program ranked 11th-best in the country.

The university’s William S. Boyd School of Law ranked 62nd out of 194 programs, and the school’s part-time juris doctor program ranked 20th. Other programs breaking the top 100 include the part-time MBA program in the Lee Business School, the College of Education and multiple disciplines in the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering.

“UNLV’s graduate programs are an important part of a strong Nevada economy,” Heavey said. “We are committed to delivering programs that meet today’s research and workforce demands with an eye toward the jobs of tomorrow.”
