CCSD Food Service Supervisor Raquel German hands out meals to a parent at Basic High School in Henderson, Monday, March 16, 2020. The Clark County School District (CCSD) will continue providing breakfast and lunch to students during the closure at 15 school locations throughout the valley from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Parents and guardians can now pick up free meals for their school-aged children even if their child is not present, the Clark County School District announced Thursday.

If a CCSD student is not present, parents and guardians will be asked to present their child’s student ID card or provide the name of the child as well as their student identification number, school name and grade level. Previously, children had to be with their parents or guardians in order to receive the meal.

The school district’s food distribution sites are open 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. Families can find their nearest distribution site online. The sites also provide families with grade-appropriate educational materials.

The district will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch for children every school day during the state-mandated school closures. The closures will last until at least April 16 depending on the status of the coronavirus pandemic.
