A blaze at a central valley house Friday afternoon killed a dog and displaced five residents, officials said.
The fire was called in about 11:20 a.m. at 225 W. Philadelphia Ave., near Industrial Road and St. Louis Avenue, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said.
No other injuries were reported. The Southern Nevada chapter of the American Red Cross said it was assisting three adults and two children.
