A Metro Police officer was arrested Wednesday on counts of lewdness with a child, according to Henderson Police.

Officer Daniel Steven Kelly, 35, was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on five counts of lewdness with a child under the age of 14, police said.

He remained jailed this afternoon without the possibility of bail, jail logs show.

Henderson Police released few details but said they opened an investigation when they were made aware of the allegations on Tuesday.

Kelly's arrest report could not be tracked Thursday.

The clerk's desk at the Henderson Municipal Court remains shut down due to the coronavirus, and police directed an inquiry to the Clark County District Attorney's Office, which didn't have the document.

Kelly was assigned to Metro's Enterprise Area Command in the southwest valley since 2017, according to a police statement. "He has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the criminal investigation."
