MGM Resorts International said today it will reopen the MGM Grand along with two other Las Vegas Strip casinos on June 4.

MGM had previously announced plans to initially reopen the Bellagio and New York-New York. The Signature at MGM Grand, an all-suites, nongaming hotel, will also reopen, the company said today.

“At opening, amenities at all properties will be limited,” the company said in a statement. “As demand for the destination builds, additional venues within these resorts will open and other MGM Resorts properties on the Strip will reopen.”

MGM Resorts operates nine casinos on the Strip.

Gov. Steve Sisolak in mid-March ordered all casinos and other nonessential businesses statewide closed to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The state is in the midst of a phased reopening of the economy, with casinos, bowling alleys, gyms, malls, churches and movie theaters among the latest to get the green light to resume operations.

All three MGM casino properties reopening will offer a variety of bars, lounges and dining options, as well as swimming pools and fitness centers. Nightclubs will remain closed.

Reopening highlights include the Bellagio conservatory and fountains and the Big Apple Roller Coaster, Big Apple Arcade and Hershey’s Chocolate World at New York-New York.

MGM Resorts acting CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle said the health and safety of guests and employees will be at the forefront as properties reopen.

MGM Resorts has released a 70-point safety plan that includes enhanced cleaning and social distancing protocols and measures such as temperature checks and face coverings for employees. Guests are also encouraged to wear masks, which will be required in some cases, such as on elevators and at certain table games.

“Getting many of our employees back to work and welcoming guests through our doors once again will allow us to do what we do best – entertain,” Hornbuckle said in a statement. “The team is ready and we can’t wait.”

Other competing properties preparing to open on the Strip include Caesars Palace, the Flamingo, Venetian, Wynn Las Vegas, Encore and Cosmopolitan. Locals casino operators Boyd Gaming and Station Casinos are also opening multiple properties off the Strip.
