Four people are dead at a Henderson apartment complex near Wigwam Parkway and Stephanie Street, including one person shot by city police, officials said today.
A resident called 911 about 11 a.m. to report they heard gunfire and saw someone at a nearby doorway who appeared to have been shot, Capt. Jason Kuzik said.
Officers arrived at the 1400 block of Stonelake Cove and found two shooting victims, and a person believed to be the shooter sitting inside a car, Kuzik said.
Officers tried to engage with the person in the car before shooting, Kuzik said. It wasn’t clear what led police to open fire, nor how many officers did.
Kuzik said four people are dead and a fifth was hospitalized for reasons he didn’t disclose.
