Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford takes questions from Las Vegas Sun political reporter John Sadler during an interview at Ford’s office at the Grant Sawyer Building Monday, Nov. 25, 2019.

Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes’ reported weekend trip to Nevada to help President Donald Trump’s campaign investigate alleged voting irregularities was a “disrespectful slap in the face,” Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford said.

There has been no evidence of widespread voting irregularities or fraud in Nevada.

Ford said an attorney general helping investigate voter fraud allegations in another state, as reported by the Salt Lake Tribune, was not standard practice. He said he called and text messaged Reyes but did not get a response.

“I would ask that he mind his business, frankly,” Ford said.

The Trump campaign has filed lawsuits in battleground states that went for President-elect Joe Biden, including Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Georgia.

In a written statement to the Tribune, Reyes said he found “evidence of voting irregularities that may have resulted in improper votes being counted or proper votes being rejected.”

Clark County Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria has said officials are not aware of any improperly processed ballots.

Ford, in a news conference today with the nonpartisan Voter Protection Program, said ongoing lawsuits and legal action are meant to cast doubt on the election’s outcome because some people cannot accept a Biden win.

Former Nevada Attorney General and failed 2018 gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt has been pushing the Trump campaign’s claims in Nevada.

Ford said he was saddened that former Nevada leaders have been “sowing doubt” among voters without evidence.

Ford said any complaints of voter fraud or improper behavior should be filed with his office for investigation.

“Those who are pursuing these tactics, I’ll call them what they are and that’s saboteurs,” Ford said.
