America’s death toll from COVID-19 has surpassed 260,000. The coronavirus continues to spread. Hospitals are reaching their limit in providing adequate care. The economy remains paralyzed and is getting worse. Schools barely function via distance learning. Amid all this chaos, what does President Donald Trump do? He goes golfing.
Meanwhile, led by Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s lawyers continue to pursue legal actions to overturn the election, with no supporting facts. Can these frivolous lawsuits eventually result in counter-suits?
At the General Services Administration, Emily Murphy continues to prevent the smooth transition of power to the Biden administration.
Trump, Giuliani, Murphy and the cult of Trump Republicans are endangering the survival of our country. What is their motive? Love of country? Patriotism? Make America Great Again?
In wartime, soldiers face court-martial for desertion and dereliction of duty. Trump’s recent actions demonstrate that he has voluntarily removed himself (mentally, emotionally and physically) from his duties as our self-proclaimed “wartime president.” He has, in essence, deserted his post. Nero fiddled as Rome burned. Trump golfs as more Americans die.
Trump is no longer worthy of our support. I urge Congress, in a display of bipartisan patriotism and with a sense of urgency, to act now and remove him from office for America’s survival.
