Metro Police is searching for this suspect, who they say is connected to an early Friday shooting at a Strip resort.

A gun was fired inside a Strip resort early Friday when a good Samaritan tried to disarm a man who pulled out a weapon during a fight, according to Metro Police.

Police today released photos of the gunman and a person accompanying him at the time of the shooting, which was reported about 2:30 a.m. inside the MGM Grand, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. S.

A fight broke out inside the casino between two groups, police said. At some point “two individuals broke away from the group and walked towards the elevator, where one of them pulled out a handgun,” police said.

A bystander took action and a struggle ensued, causing the gun to fire a round, police said.

The bystander took the gun and handed it over to resort security. The suspect and the man who was with him left the property, police said.

Metro gang detectives are investigating the incident.

The suspect, a thin man who stands about 6-feet tall, wore a dark-colored T-shirt, a baseball cap, whitewashed jeans and white sneakers, police said.

The man with him, deemed by police as a “person of interest,” stands about 5 feet, 8 inches, and wore his hair in dreadlocks in a ponytail with colored tips. He had a goatee, and wore a light-colored T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
