Turns out anyone can have a presence at Allegiant Stadium for UNLV football games this fall.

With attendance expected to be limited to about 6,000 fans because of pandemic-related restrictions, the university is getting creative in reaching out to supporters so they can have a place inside the program’s new game-day venue.

UNLV announced its cardboard cutout program today, giving fans the option to have cutout of themselves — or whomever they see fit — placed in the stadium. It’s $79 for the season; $49 for students.

“This initiative offers our loyal fans and supporters the opportunity to directly participate in our inaugural season at Allegiant Stadium,” John Gladchuk, the UNLV senior associate athletics director for external affairs, said in a statement.

The university will create the cutout using a provided image, which officials must approve. They will be placed randomly throughout the stadium.

“The cutouts will reflect the dedication of our invaluable friends and supporters who have stayed behind us and continued to support our student-athletes,” Gladchuk said.

UNLV opens at the new stadium Oct. 31 against UNR in the Fremont Cannon rivalry game. Cutout orders received by Oct. 26 will be placed in time for the UNR game.
