Clark County School District Police officers assist a family with new car seats.

Five school police officers recently offered a small reprieve for a local homeless family living in a minivan.

The Clark County School District Police officers, only identified by their last names in a Facebook post, were bearing gifts of car seats, food, gift cards and gasoline.

According to the post:

While on patrol in east Las Vegas, Officer Pinto spotted a pair of young kids sitting next to the van and stopped.

Officer Beatty joined Pinto, and they soon discovered that the family was living out of their vehicle for the past two weeks.

The officers gave the family two new child safety seats, and as it turned out Officer Trujillo is a certified car seat tech, and Officer Campos assisted with the installation. Officer Clark gave the family a box of food and gift cards to a sandwich shop.

The officers then accompanied the family to a gas station and topped the vehicle’s tank. From there, the officers escorted the family to a shelter, where they’d be able to seek more resources.
