LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

President owes veterans respect

Based on the amount of information in Jeffery Goldberg’s article in The Atlantic, plus the non-comments from Republicans, and as a veteran of the Korean War, I am insulted by comments made from the current commander in chief.

My family, like many others, has had a member or members serve and die at war — including World War II, Korea and Vietnam. We were lucky that only one was killed.

Several family members enlisted and others were drafted. I am proud of our family’s contributions and surely am not a “sucker” or a “loser,” as the self-proclaimed stable genius, who claims to know more about war than our generals, says.

All he knows is how to fake an injury when he’s called to serve. “Not getting a disease was my Vietnam,” he brags.

Where is the Republican Party veterans’ outrage at this insult? How many “losers” will be honored to go fight and die for this occupant of the Oval Office, should the need arise? Time to discharge those in this administration. Vote!
