Woman injured in shooting at valet area of Strip resort

A woman was grazed by gunfire late Tuesday at a Las Vegas Strip resort’s valet area, according to Metro Police.

The shooting stemmed from a dispute among a group of people at the property, Lt. David Gordon said. Officers responded at 11:08 p.m. to Aria, 3730 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

“At some point during the altercation, at least one person fired shots, possibly in the air,” Gordon said.

Police were still looking for the suspected shooter, Gordon said early this morning. The woman was hospitalized with minor injuries, but was later released.

Gunshots could be heard in a video recorded near the area and uploaded on social media. About a dozen shots, fired in short spurts, were audible.

The incident comes in the aftermath of a shooting on the Strip early Saturday and a couple weeks after Metro reported an uptick of violence in the tourist corridor, including downtown Las Vegas.

On Saturday, a man who was on the Strip with his uncle was shot five times during an altercation. Police later that day arrested and jailed three suspects, including the alleged shooter.

The victim was expected to survive.
