Mike Nuga’s sixth year of college basketball will come at his fourth university — UNLV.

The 6-foot-2 guard, who averaged 17.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season at Kent State, is transferring to UNLV, according to reports.

Nuga, a native of Canada, started his collegiate career at Eastern Florida Junior College before transferring to Portland State. He led Portland State is scoring with 10.3 points per game in 2018-19 before transferring to Kent State.

After sitting out 2019-2020 per of transfer rules, Nuga was a third-team all-MAC selection this past season. For a UNLV team lacking guard depth, his 38.5% shooting on 3-pointers could be most attractive.

College basketball insider Jeff Borzello of ESPN ranked Nuga as a top-100 transfer — there a hundreds of players in the NCAA transfer portal, most of whom will be immediately eligible at their new school.

Nuga reportedly also considered Wyoming and BYU.

He is the seventh transfer to pick UNLV and first-year coach Kevin Kruger. Here are the others.
