No damage found after explosions heard in the southwest valley

Police and firefighters responded today to reports of the sound of explosions at a gated community in the southwest valley but found no damage, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Nobody was hurt, officials said.

The incident was reported about 8:30 a.m. today at the Mirasol at Mountain’s Edge community near Buffalo Drive and Mountains Edge Parkway.

Multiple callers reported hearing a series of explosions, officials said. Metro Police officers also heard the blasts and directed firefighters to the community pool house, officials said.

Firefighters shut off the gas line to the pool house and the sounds stopped, officials said. Southwest Gas workers found no indications of a gas leak but were continuing to investigate, officials said.

There were no signs of an explosion or damage, officials said.
