Officers were dispatched about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday near North Maryland Parkway and Wilson Avenue when they discovered an adult male laying on the sidewalk who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound, according to a news release. Medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

An investigation from homicide detectives indicated the victim was homeless and had been sitting on the sidewalk for most of the day. Police offered neither a motive nor did they name a suspect.
