A man was taken into custody and a child with him was unharmed following a standoff with officers today at an east Las Vegas apartment complex, Metro Police said.

Officers responded about noon to a domestic disturbance call in the 4400 block of East Twain Avenue, near Boulder Highway, police said. Metro announced about 2:40 p.m. that the incident had been resolved.

The man, who was in the apartment with a young child, had refused to come out, police said. Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation and convince him to surrender, police said.

Twain was temporarily closed in both directions in the vicinity, police said.

Police did not identify the man or provide additional information.
