Metro probing death of housekeeper found at Strip hotel

Updated Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 | 3:17 p.m.

Citing new evidence, Metro Police say they have opened an investigation into the death of a housekeeper whose body was found at a Las Vegas Strip resort on Sunday.

Police received a call about 6 p.m. Sunday stating the housekeeper had been found unresponsive in a hotel room in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South, Metro said.

At about 7 p.m. Wednesday, Metro posted a video to its YouTube channel seeking help identifying a person of interest relating to the case. On Thursday, police said the person had been located and interviewed by detectives. They provided no additional details.

Security officials at the property reported the housekeeper was having a “medical-related problem” and was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she later died, police said.

Officers were also advised by medical personnel and the Clark County Coroner’s Office that the death appeared to be medical-related, police said. Security also reported they did not notice anything suspicious, police said.

Police, however, said they were provided new information Tuesday that prompted them to reexamine the death, though they did not elaborate. Homicide detectives were reviewing the case, police said.

No other information was released, including the woman’s identity.

The cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
