A son of Nevada rancher and states’ rights advocate Cliven Bundy was jailed in Henderson on warrants for violating a domestic violence restraining order and resisting a public officer, city police and jail records show.

Cliven Lance Bundy, 41, was booked Tuesday afternoon into the Henderson Detention Center on a count for contempt of court and later rebooked on the bench warrants, logs show.

Henderson Police spokesman Officer Alan Olvera confirmed the arrest. Bundy, who goes by his middle name, later appeared in court, where bail wasn’t set.

Police filed the two cases on Oct. 1, which stemmed from incidents reported near Guilford and Whitney Ranch drives, Henderson Municipal Court logs show.

Bundy has a lengthy criminal record in Southern Nevada, including a 2015 prison sentence for violating parole on two felony convictions, and not completing a yearlong, court-ordered drug program.

The Bundy family shot into prominence in 2014 over an armed standoff with federal agents after the Bureau of Land Management tried to round up the father's cattle on public land near the family’s home in Bunkerville, about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
