Raiders running back Josh Jacobs said he thought he fell asleep at the wheel before his sports car crashed into a wall, leading to his DUI arrest Monday, according to a Metro Police arrest report.

Jacobs had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath but passed a field sobriety test, police said. A warrant was issued for a hospital blood draw, but the results weren’t revealed in the report.

The single-vehicle wreck happened about 4:45 a.m. in the McCarran International Airport traffic tunnel, police said.

Officers found Jacobs in the driver’s seat of his 2019 Acura NSX with the airbag deployed, police said.

Jacobs, 22, told an officer he “believes he fell asleep prior to losing control of the vehicle,” according to the report.

Surveillance video captured Jacobs’ car losing control and skidding about 320 feet before hitting a wall, police said.

Jacobs was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of DUI, police said.

The crash occurred hours after the Raiders won the last game of their inaugural season in Las Vegas.
