Las Vegas sees rainfall, which might return Saturday afternoon

Southern Nevadans hoping to fall asleep to the relaxing sound of rainfall will have to wait for another night, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers Friday evening, when .01 inches of rain were recorded at McCarran International Airport, were down to their final drops, meteorologist John Salmen said about 7:45 p.m.

Salmen said there’s a 20% to 30% chance of rain Saturday from late afternoon to early evening, but with substantially less wind expected.

While winds in the 15 to 20 mph range gusted at 30 mph, they shouldn’t exceed 10 mph Saturday, Salmen said.

Saturday’s expected high of 54 is 8 degrees cooler than today’s high of 62, Salmen said.

The current temperature was 51 degrees, Salmen said.
