A Las Vegas woman died after she was hit by a small bus and run over this morning at Sahara and Eastern avenues, according to Metro Police.
The woman was crossing Sahara in a marked crosswalk about 9:30 a.m. when the bus, which was making a right turn from Eastern onto Sahara, failed to yield, police said.
The 55-year-old woman was knocked to the ground, and the rear tires of the bus ran over her, police said.
She was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to police. Her name was not released, pending notification of her family.
Neither the driver, a 68-year-old North Las Vegas man, nor a passenger on the bus were injured, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
