Two-year-old Amari Nicholson has been missing for five days, and a family member and missing child advocates say there is no new information as to his whereabouts.

“It’s very unusual for this age group to be missing this long. Most of our cases are teenagers. So, this isn’t an ordinary case,” said Margarita Edwards, executive director of Nevada Child Seekers.

This morning, Nevada Child Seekers and Nicholson’s aunt, Yolanda Everett, were at a gas station at Paradise Road and Elm Street, across from Emerald Suites, passing out flyers with Nicholson’s face on them. Nicholson was last seen about 6 a.m. Wednesday at his home at Emerald Suites, Everett said.

Metro Police said the boy might be in severe emotional distress and in need of medical help.

Nicholson’s mother was in Colorado at the time Nicholson went missing, and his father was in Reno, said Everett, who has had no contact with the mother. A friend of the boy's mother was taking care of him, she said.

Nevada Child Seekers passed out flyers all weekend. Everett’s brother, who is Nicholson’s father, was also in Las Vegas over the weekend to help search for the boy, Everett said.

“Somebody knows something, and any tip is welcomed because we don't have any information,” Edwards said.

“The police are doing everything they can do. We are doing everything we can do,” Everett said. “We need people to tell us if they’ve seen anything.”

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact Metro at 702-828-3111 or via email at [email protected].
