MGM Resorts reinstating parking fees at Strip resorts

Paying for Parking on the Strip

Steve Marcus

People pay for parking at the MGM Grand parking garage Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016.

MGM Resorts International is going to start charging for parking again at its Strip resorts on June 1.

Locals, however, will receive three hours of free parking, the company said.

Self-parking has been free since casinos started reopening last year after a state-ordered closure to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Self-parking at MGM's "ultra luxury" properties — Bellagio, Aria and Vdara — will be free for the first hour, $15 for up to four hours and $18 for each 24-hour period after that.

At the MGM's other Strip resorts — the Mirage, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, New York-New York and Park MGM — parking will be free for the first hour, $12 for up to four hours and $15 for each 24-hour period after that.

Parking at all resorts is free for military and former military members and their spouses through the M Life rewards program.

M Life Mastercard holders can also park for free with their cards.

Valet parking will return to Aria, Vdara, Bellagio and the MGM Grand on May 25. The remaining MGM resorts on the Strip will begin offering valet parking starting June 1.

Valet services will be cashless, the company said.
