Two people were killed and a third suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash in south Las Vegas Wednesday afternoon, according to Metro Police.
The crash was reported shortly after 3 p.m. near Blue Diamond Road and Valley View Boulevard.
A 2004 GMC Envoy was heading east on Blue Diamond, approaching Hinson Street, when it veered onto opposing traffic and struck a 2014 Toyota Scion head-on, police said.
The 29-year-old man operating the SUV died at the scene, while the car’s driver and his passenger were rushed to University Medical Center, where the passenger, a 23-year-old Las Vegas woman died, and he remained in critical condition, police said.
These were the 46th and 47th deaths reported on Metro-patrolled roadways this year.
