Legends In Concert” is back at the Tropicana this week.

Welcome to the first Las Vegas Sun Best Bets column since March 13, 2020! With live events on the verge of a full comeback in Las Vegas, the time has come to get back to the business of being the entertainment capital of the world. Best Bets will now appear every Friday at LasVegasSun.com to provide a preview of some of the most exciting weekend events on and off the Strip.

Memorial Day weekend is expected to be one of the busiest times in Vegas in a very long time. If you’re looking to visit a pool club or nightclub, check out Las Vegas Weekly’s party guide for the holiday weekend. And here’s this week’s Best Bets for live entertainment in the next few days:

DREAMSTATE The Downtown Las Vegas Events Center came back to life last weekend with an electronic dance music concert from legendary producer and DJ Deadmau5. Insomniac, the producer of that event and the annual Electric Daisy Carnival festival coming back to Las Vegas in October, strikes again Friday night with a mini music fest featuring DJ duos Cosmic Gate and Gabriel & Dresden along with Gareth Emery, Haliene, Jerome Isma-Ae, and another DJ icon in Paul Oakenfold. LEGENDS IN CONCERT The current longest running production show on the Las Vegas Strip delivered its comeback performance this week. “Legends In Concert” has been a genre-defining favorite for decades and once it moved to its current home in the classic showroom at the Tropicana, it doubled down on Vegas legacy by adding legendary headliner Frank Marino as host. Now it’s back onstage Thursday through Saturday and it may be the perfect way to celebrate your Vegas comeback. May 28-29, 7:30 p.m., troplv.com.

THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS Bill Medley and Bucky Heard are gearing up to return to their residency at Harrah’s Showroom, but for this weekend only, their powerful voices and those classic Righteous Brothers songs will be performed live at the Showroom at South Point, just a few minutes south on the Strip. May 28-30, 7:30 p.m., southpointcasino.com.

OTTMAR LIEBERT Five-time Grammy Award nominee Ottmar Liebert, a German-born guitarist known for his mastery of Spanish playing style, brings his Luna Negra band to the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater for a special holiday weekend edition of the ongoing Jazz in the Park series. LAUGH AFTER DARK This brand-new Saturday night comedy offering at the bustling Notoriety Live theater at downtown’s Neonopolis complex is already generating some serious heat. Charlie Wilson hosts, house band the Fremont Funk keeps the party rocking, and this week’s comedians are Greg Roque, Steven Briggs, Josh Florhaug and Big Mickey. May 29, 9 p.m., notorietylive.com.
