Officials at the Las Vegas airport are urging holiday travelers to arrive early and use mobile apps to check in for their flights in advance.

“We always recommend for a busy travel period that people plan ahead and give themselves plenty of time,” McCarran International Airport spokesman Joe Rajchel said. “It all will go a long way in reducing the stress.”

The Terminal 1 parking garage and Terminal 3 economy lot have reached capacity, according to the airport’s Twitter account. Passengers leaving their vehicles were directed to park at the Terminal 3 garage.

Though the coronavirus pandemic has not ended, Rajchel said more people seem to be traveling this holiday season with vaccines available and some government restrictions lifted.

“People are eager to travel and eager to see the loved ones they my not have seen in potentially close to two years,” he said.

The Terminal 1 long-term parking garage has been filling up on weekends “for several months now,” Rajchel noted.
