Rod Stewart returns to his residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace this weekend.

Nothing can stop a great concert from coming to Las Vegas. You can see proof this weekend when some Texas legends return to the Venetian, when a punk-rock team-up takes over Virgin Las Vegas and when international stars converge downtown for a reggae festival.

FRANKIE VALLI Revisit the music that inspired generations as well as the creation of the smash hit show “Jersey Boys” Friday night when the inimitable Frankie Valli returns to Las Vegas to perform at Reynolds Hall at the Smith Center downtown. October 8, thesmithcenter.com.

ROD STEWART Las Vegas has been waiting for travel restrictions to lift so U.K. visitors can return. One of our most beloved visitors is back this week, and Rod Stewart is bringing all of his hits to the stage at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for maximum fun, just as he has since 2011. ZZ TOP Bass player Dusty Hill passed away in July, but the blues-rock outfit he helped established almost 50 years ago is still going strong. Longtime crew member and guitar tech Elwood Francis has joined Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard in ZZ Top, which continues to tour at Hill’s orders, stopping in at the Venetian Theatre for a five-show engagement that starts this weekend. FLOGGING MOLLY & VIOLENT FEMMES This co-headlining tour with Irish-American punk favorites Flogging Molly and edgy midwestern folk-punks Violent Femmes also features pop-punk group Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and Brooklyn band Thick inside the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas Saturday night. MARTIN NIEVERA The “concert king” of the Philippines is hitting the stage at the M Pavilion at the M Resort in the south valley this weekend and bringing special guest star Travis Cloer along for the ride. October 9, themresort.com.

REGGAE RISE UP Downtown’s premier outdoor concert venue hosts this two-day festival featuring plenty of food, art, activities and merchandise along with music from Slightly Stoopid, Dirty Heads, Common Kings, Soja, Matisyahu, J Boog and many more. October 9-10, dlvec.com.
