A Clark County man is being charged with voter fraud crimes for allegations of voting twice in the 2020 general election, Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced today.
Donald Kirk Hartle, 55, was charged last week with voting using the name of another person and voting more than once in the same election, according to the criminal complaint.
Both are category D felonies in which a convicted person can be sentenced to one to four years in prison and fined up to $5,000.
Hartle allegedly voted twice, including once using the name of Rosemarie Hartle, on or between Oct. 26, 2020 and Oct. 30, 2020, Ford claims.
“Voter fraud is rare, but when it happens it undercuts trust in our election system and will not be tolerated by my office,” Ford said in a statement. “I want to stress that our office will pursue any credible allegations of voter fraud and will work to bring any offenders to justice.”
Hartle is registered in Clark County and is affiliated with the Republican party, according to voterrecords.com.
He is scheduled for a hearing at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 18 at the Las Vegas Township Justice Court, according to the statement.
