Natalie Acosta, 13, gets vaccinated at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s South Hall Thursday, May 13, 2021.

The city of Henderson will hand out $100 Amazon gift cards starting today to people who get a COVID-19 shot at the College of Southern Nevada-Henderson campus.

The promotion runs while supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis, although appointments are encouraged.

All three authorized and approved vaccines will be available; only the Pfizer-made vaccine is cleared for children as young as 12. Shot recipients can get the gift card for their first or second dose.

The shot clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CSN-Henderson is located at 700 College Drive.

The promotion is another example of governments offering financial incentives to vaccine recipients. Clark County is offering cards worth $100 for unvaccinated residents to get their first COVID-19 jab during a two-day, pop-up clinic at Eldorado High School in east Las Vegas on Sept. 18-19.
