I was watching an interview of one of the participants in Saturday’s rally at the Capitol and, when asked what she was protesting, she said the treatment of those who are being held by the government for their participation in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
And then she made the following statement: “Those that are being held are being treated worse than the Nazis treated the Jews in Germany.” After I recovered from the shock of her statement, I wondered if this person is just stupid. But no, I thought, this person is just ignorant, so how could I correct that?
So, if I could meet her, I would offer her the following:
1. A VIP tour of the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.
2. A VIP viewing of all the film shot by the Signal Corp at the end of World War II as the Allied troops released the inmates of concentration camps throughout Germany and Poland.
3. A tour of the nearest jail holding one of the insurrectionists being held for trial.
Unfortunately, I am not sure people who are this ignorant would change their minds.
