Skeletal remains were uncovered at Lake Mead National Recreation area today, the National Parks Service said.

Rangers received a call about 11:15 a.m. today reporting the discovery of the remains at Swim Beach, the Parks Service said in a news release. Arriving rangers set up a perimeter to retrieve the remains and were assisted by Metro Police, according to the release.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s office has been contacted to determine the cause of death, the Parks Service said.

It marks the fourth time since May such remains have been found.

In May, two bodies were found that had surfaced as Lake Mead’s water level has receded.

One discovered inside a barrel had been determined to be from a homicide that occurred sometime in the 1970s or ‘80s. Police have speculated that more remains may be discovered as the water level has continued to decline.

The Park Service did not indicate the timing of death for the body found today. The investigation remains ongoing, according to the release. No other details were released.
