Updated Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022 | 3:35 p.m.

Four separate traffic crashes this morning left three pedestrians dead and another in critical condition, according to Metro Police.

Officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian about 4 a.m. near South Rainbow Boulevard and Palmyra Avenue, police said.

Medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene, and impairment was not a suspected factor in the incident, police said.

About a half hour later, another crash was reported near West Flamingo Road and Arville Street, police said.

A pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center, where they later died, police said. The driver — James Frasco, 52, of Las Vegas — was located a short time later and booked at the Clark County Detention Center for applicable hit and run counts, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, an older model white pickup truck, left the scene and has not been located, police said.

Shortly after 8:15 a.m., police responded to the intersection of J Street and Washington Avenue after another pedestrian was hit, police said. They were transported to UMC in critical condition, police said.

The suspect vehicle fled but was located a short time later, police said.

Officers stopped the vehicle in the 300 block of Stanford Street and took the driver into custody, police said.

Officers responded to yet another pedestrian crash about 8:25 a.m. near Washington Avenue and Sloan Lane, police said. The crash happened when a purple Chrysler 300 was traveling the wrong way in the westbound lanes on Washington, and struck the north-facing curb, police said.

The Chrysler, struck several light poles and an electrical box before veering through the intersection with Fairchild Street. After clearing the intersection, the Chrysler went back onto the sidewalk, where it struck a 50-year-old woman, who died at the scene, police said. The vehicle then continued for several hundred feet before coming to rest.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The crash remains under investigation.
