John Legend launched the next leg of his “Love in Las Vegas” residency show at Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort on Aug. 5, but he dropped plenty of legendary news before getting back on the Strip stage. The multiplatinum recording artist will release his eighth studio album “Legend” on Sept. 9 via Republic Records, executive produced by the man himself and Ryan Tedder. He has performed the first two singles “Honey” and “Dope” during his Vegas show. And Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen announced this week they’re expecting another baby to join daughter Luna and son Miles. “Love in Las Vegas” continues Aug. 10, 12, 13, 17, 19 and 20.

Here’s a tribute show no one saw coming: “Striply Sondheim: A Burlesque Tribute to Stephen Sondheim” is set for six performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Aug. 12-27 at Majestic Repertory Theatre downtown. Stunners Glitter Ginger, Luna LaVie, Pony Poison, Lilly Starr and Zelda Fairfax anchor the cast. You can find tickets at tickettailor.com.

This month, Cornerstone Wealth Management is sponsoring the program and will help the show donate $3 per ticket to St. Jude’s.
