Micah Alejado passed for three touchdowns tonight for the Bishop Gorman football team in a 42-7 win over Corner Canyon of Utah to open the season.

Jaylon Edmond, Elija Lofton and Trech Kekahuna had touchdown receptions for the Gaels, and junior running back DeVon Rice had a touchdown run.

Corner Canyon quarterback Isaac Wilson — brother of the New York Jets’ Zach Wilson — passed for more than 400 yards last week, but couldn’t get going offensively against Bishop Gorman.

That effort included an interception return for a touchdown from Kayleb Ervin.

“For the defense to play the way they did against a team that was accomplished, that was super impressive,” Gorman coach Brent Browner said.
