A Las Vegas man was killed in a hit-and-run south of Moapa Valley last week, according to Nevada State Police.
Officers responded about 8:50 p.m. on Dec. 4 to the collision on Interstate 15. The victim, 79-year-old John Andrew Fridlund, was determined to have been standing on the right shoulder of the road in front of his van, which was disabled.
The suspect, in an unknown vehicle approaching southbound on I-15, had failed to stay in its lane and ran onto the shoulder, striking Fridlund. The suspect then fled the scene, police said.
Fridlund was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing, police said.
