Tina Quigley listens to a question during an interview at the Las Vegas Sun offices in Henderson Friday, Dec. 6, 2019. Quigley is the former CEO of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada but left in November to join Virgin Trains USA as senior vice president of Business Strategy.

The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance has a new leader, and it’s a familiar face to many people in Southern Nevada.

Tina Quigley, former CEO of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, will be the LVGEA’s next president and CEO. She’ll start in her new position on Feb. 14.

“In my 30-plus years as a resident of Southern Nevada, I watched our region’s reputation grow from a place to visit to a place to call home for businesses and families,” Quigley said in a statement.

“I am honored to move forward some of the collaborative, game-changing work underway by our regional partners and the LVGEA team,” she said.

Quigley spent 14 years working for the RTC. Before that, she worked as a planner for Harry Reid International Airport.

In late 2019, Quigley announced her departure from the RTC to take a position with Virgin Trains. She was tasked with helping lead the effort for a high-speed train project between Las Vegas and Southern California.

In March, Quigley announced her departure from Virgin Trains to be more involved with various ventures in Southern Nevada, including her work with several nonprofits.

Quigley succeeds former LVGEA CEO Jonas Peterson, who announced his departure in October.

Though it has existed under different names, the LVGEA brand was established in 2012. It works to facilitate economic diversification and growth in Southern Nevada.
