Vice President Joe Biden becomes a bit emotional as Senator Harry Reid reflects on Biden’s life challenges and successes there on behalf of Hillary Clinton and other Democrats at the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters building on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2016.

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will be in Las Vegas on Saturday to attend the funeral of late Nevada Sen. Harry Reid, according to the Sun sources.

Reid, who died Dec. 28 at age 82, spent 30 years in the U.S. House and Senate, where he served as majority leader from 2007 to 2015. Many of those years were spent working alongside Biden, who was a U.S. senator from Delaware from 1973-2009 before becoming vice president.

“During the two decades we served together in the United States Senate, and the eight years we worked together while I served as vice president, Harry met the marker for what I’ve always believed is the most important thing by which you can measure a person—their action and their word,” Biden said in a statement last week.

“If Harry said he would do something, he did it. If he gave you his word, you could bank on it. That’s how he got things done for the good of the country for decades.”

Reid’s funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Smith Center in downtown Las Vegas. His body will be returned to Washington to lie in state at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Jan. 12.
