Pyrotechnics explode before the UNLV Rebels game against the San Diego State Aztecs at Thomas & Mack Center Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.

The Mountain West announced it has rescheduled last week’s UNLV basketball game at Air Force to Jan. 20.

The contest was originally set for Jan. 8 but was postponed due to a spate of COVID-19 positives within the UNLV program.

UNLV will now play three games in a five-day stretch, first traveling to San Diego State on Jan. 18, then going straight to Air Force on the 20th and returning to host San Jose State on Jan. 22.

The Air Force contest was one of two UNLV games that were postponed last week; a Jan. 5 date at San Jose State was also moved due to COVID-19 issues in the SJSU program. No makeup date has been announced for that game.

Sixteen games remain on UNLV’s 2021-22 schedule, including Tuesday’s home contest against New Mexico.
