The UNLV basketball program is making it easy for fans to attend next week’s game against UNR.

When placing an order today and Thursday at Raising Cane’s on Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road, simply say ‘Go Rebels’ and you’ll receive a pair of tickets for the game on Feb. 1.

The promotion is part of an effort by UNLV officials to return fans to the Thomas & Mack Center, where attendance has dropped in recent seasons. The pandemic, an underachieving team and competition from other Vegas-area sports teams for the entertainment dollar are arguably to blame.

UNLV has averaged 4,733 fans per game over 11 games at the 18,500-seat Thomas & Mack Center.

The contest with UNR could be the best attended of the season, as it’s the first game with students back on campus after winter break. And, of course, many enjoy watching the instate foes renew the rivalry.
